Self-Paced Online Courses "Successful communication"

(An offer of your Personnel Development Department)

  • Conflict Management – Understanding & Solving Conflicts
Conflicts have always been part of human interaction. They are not always pleasant, but can be constructive. Conflicts, if managed properly, can point out problems, promote innovation, and prevent stagnation. They help to clarify different points of view, stimulate creativity, and enable new perspectives. Last but not least, they may lead to a better understanding of oneself and others, and they can stabilize relationships, if managed well.

  • Delivering Bad News
Constant changes and highly dynamic markets and environments force leaders to make tough decisions more often. Communicating them is a challenge that leaders often feel uncomfortable with. This learning program helps you to understand why delivering bad news is so difficult and what you need to do in order to support the affected people to cope with the situation. It also delivers practical input on how to communicate bad news either to individuals or groups.

  • Effective Communication
Strong communication skills are essential in both professional and personal life. Yet, interacting with others can often be complex. This learning program equips you with the tools to better decode communication and express yourself more effectively and successfully. As a result, you will enhance your confidence and the impact you have on others – whether in your personal life, within a team, or in a leadership role.

  • Effective Meeting Facilitation
Meeting facilitation plays a vital role when making important decisions and solving problems in a team. A well-facilitated meeting involves all participants on equal footing and achieves results quickly. This learning program will teach you the basics of meeting facilitation. You will learn about different methods and approaches that you can use to effectively facilitate your meetings.

  • Giving & Receiving Feedback Successfully
Feedback allows us to reflect on our own behavior, helps reveal potential invisible areas, and can spark positive change and growth. That makes it one of the most important communication tools in both our professional and personal lives. In this learning program, you’ll explore how to make the most of feedback and how to lead highly effective feedback conversations. Together, we’ll work through a real-life case and also look at how to give and receive (remote) feedback successfully.

  • Leadership Conversations
Constructive and goal-oriented conversations are an essential part of good leadership. In this learning program, you work out what exactly defines a good conversation. What are the different types of leadership conversations? What is the difference between them? What are their goals? What are the pitfalls you should try to avoid? After completing the learning program, you can make use of techniques and methods to help you in future conversations.

  • Presenting with Confidence
Giving presentations convincingly and confidently is a key factor to success. How do you best use your body and voice to captivate your audience? Which tools, media, and methods can help you to authentically present your topic on your own "stage"? In this learning program, you learn how to prepare your presentations so they are structured and lively and how to perform confidently in front of your audience. You work on measures to handle stage fright and are given the possibility to practice everything on a personal example.

  • The Power of Storytelling
For thousands of years, people have passed on knowledge predominantly orally. We even experience ourselves as the protagonists of our own (life) stories. It is hardly surprising that we pay special attention to stories and can process them particularly easily. In this learning program, you get to know techniques that help you benefit from this circumstance.
